On our anniversary vacation we went to Edinburgh, Scotland on the second leg of our trip. We took the train from Kings Cross. The trip took about five hours by train and we arrived in Edinburgh around 2:30pm. Honestly, the train ride was very pretty once we got into the country, however, the train got overloaded, and we were unable to even get to the the dining car for food. We planned poorly and did not have any snacks with us! We ended up stopping for lunch right off the train and grabbed some sandwiches to take as we walked to our flat. It was adorable! Probably the best place out of the three flats during our whole trip. We took in the sights the next three days... Hiked up Arthur's Seat, walked the Royal Mile, explored Edinburgh Castle, walked to the top of the Scott Monument, checked out the National Gallery of Scotland, saw St. Giles Cathedral, had dinner at an amazing restaurant called the Devil's Advocate, visited the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, and took in the Royal Botanic Garden of Edinburgh. It was an amazing couple of days and we can't wait to go back someday.
